Gravity

I’ve been working on a bunch of stuff for this amazing art conference called Gravity. It’s been running all year since Janurary. And now the website that i built is up – it’s actually really amazing to see how many well acomplished artists my co-workers/artists bagged – like ALOT of previous Turner Prize Nominees/winners- bothContinue reading “Gravity”

nearly a year after graduating, reflection: everyday i’m shuffling

Technically speaking i didn’t graduate until November when I officially got my certificate and that. But by transcript and exam board standards and the expiration of my  university log-in username – it has been since June 2010.   It’s nearly been a whole year! Last night I was online stalking some of my favourite artists/peopleContinue reading “nearly a year after graduating, reflection: everyday i’m shuffling”

London on a budget (travel)

I recently read the new post on the NYT’s frugal Traveller blog in London. Seth seemed to have gotten a bit of a raw deal. As a Northern UK person, we all know how expensive London is in comparison to the rest of England, never mind if you had to change your currency to half of it’sContinue reading “London on a budget (travel)”

Transatlantic Flights, some secrets.

(manchester airport, UK, I don’t know who this woman is in the photo. she’s no relation to me) Introduction. “Formed in London in 1942, the Design Research Unit was responsible for some of the most important design produced in post-war Britain. We are all surplus: why the dark matter of the artworld matters

NOTE: This will probably change. this version is NOT going to be published in printed format; but a variation of this article will (alas a BETTER version of it). But you know, please feel free to comment; and yeah. We are all surplus:  why the dark matter of the artworld matters. Dark Matter: Art and Politics in theContinue reading “We are all surplus: why the dark matter of the artworld matters”

re-visioning maps! nyc subway!

when i came back from Barcelona – i thought – there’s 2 metro/subway maps that need updating… and those 2 are indeed Barcelona’s and Paris’s!  Barcelona’s admittedly isn’t as bad as Paris’s map. But they’ve copy-cat-ed the faultless  London Underground map style, without understanding that their subway maps also map out train-lines too. this makes it super confusing, esp. in a different language such as Spanish!Continue reading “re-visioning maps! nyc subway!”
